Founded In Launched in discussions in 2018; formally organized as ATCNEW thereafter.

In 2018, a group of Christian leaders and community members in Green Bay recognized the devastating impact addiction was having on families across northeastern Wisconsin. Compelled by faith, they felt called to establish a place where men and women could find lasting freedom through Christ. What began as a small steering committee soon grew into a movement to bring an Adult & Teen Challenge center to the region. By 2019, the team had secured nonprofit status and official affiliation with the national Adult & Teen Challenge network. In 2020, they welcomed Executive Director Vaushawn Johnson, whose leadership helped turn their vision into reality. After years of prayer, planning, and renovation, the Men’s Recovery Center officially opened in January 2024, offering a safe, Christ-centered environment for transformation. Just a year later, ATCNEW celebrated its first graduate — a testament to God’s faithfulness and the power of restoration through community.

Adult & Teen Challenge Northeastern Wisconsin (ATCNEW) offers a one-year, faith-based recovery program that helps individuals overcome chemical addictions and other life-controlling issues by addressing their spiritual, physical, and emotional needs. At ATCNEW, we believe true transformation comes through Christ. Our program combines structured curriculum, spiritual discipleship, mentoring, work therapy, education, community service, and aftercare support so that graduates can walk into a restored life. We strive to remove barriers to recovery — including financial ones — by offering our services with the help of donations and support so that cost does not prevent someone from receiving help.
